Client: Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh
Architect: ADP Architecture
Quantity Surveyor: Currie & Brown
Project Value £270,000
Project Timescale: 8 Weeks
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The project involved the refurbishment of an existing electronics laboratory on the first floor of the university’s Earl Mountbatten Building in Riccarton to create a CMSE (Computational Mathematics, Science, and Engineering) workspace for computer Net Zero modelling.
The vibrant new workspace we created included a ten-person central feature meeting room with full AV facilities, four glazed offices, eight workstations in an open plan office area, a breakout space with kitchen facilities, touchdown and storage areas and a feature bespoke bookcase unit.
The finishes touches were added with acoustic ceiling baffles contrasting against the darkness of the open plan concrete soffit which highlighted the new M&E services and digitally controlled LED lighting.
Bright decoration and a combination of carpet and vinyl flooring all added to a modern and welcoming working environment.
