PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Refurbishment of two existing laser labs, a lobby, and ancillary office unit to create three new laser labs with more modern facilities and a greater controlled environment. The labs were located on the ground floor of the David Brewster building at HWU’s Riccarton Campus in Edinburgh.

The works comprised the general strip-out and refurbishment of the existing laser labs to include new plasterboard wall linings, construction of new insulated plasterboard partitions and window linings, suspended ceilings, new flooring finishes and decoration throughout, full M&E services replacement including power and data, new LED lighting, door interlocking access controls and air conditioning. New specialist laboratory bench and storage units and the installation of a suspended laser gantry to serve the existing laser optical tables.

The creation of an external GRP service enclosures to house the compressors along with external landscaping.
